Police Background Check
All participants must provide a police background check as part of their
Summer Camp USA application. Residents of the UK are required to obtain
a background check through ACRO. The application form is available here.
We will ask you to apply for a check once your Summer Camp USA application has been
accepted following your interview.
We will only accept an existing ACRO certificate in lieu of making this application
if it was issued in 2012 and you can present an original at the interview.
Residents of Ireland must apply for a Police Certificate instead and send a copy
of the certificate to BUNAC.
If you have lived outside the UK for an extended period we may ask you to additionally
provide a police check from the country/ies you have lived in previously.
You must speak to BUNAC before applying if you have ever been arrested or ever received
a criminal caution or conviction as this could have implications for your US visa
application as well as affect your placement chances.
